Passenger truck hit by armored truck in Phoenix

An armored vehicle collided with a truck carrying two teenagers and their father recently in Phoenix. Five people were injured as a result of the crash, and the fire department had to call in numerous fire trucks in order to cut people out of their vehicles. Thankfully, no one died in the wreck and even though the father of the passenger truck suffered serious injuries and is in critical condition, he is expected to survive.

That man's children, the two teens in the passenger truck, were injured as well. Those injuries were described as non-life threatening. Two employees in the armored vehicle were injured in the wreck, but they are expected to be fine. One of them was even able to escape the wreckage before extrication measures were taken by the fire department.

Now the attention turns to the driver of the armored truck, who the police say may have been distracted prior to the accident. This hasn't been proven yet, but they have a suspicion that he either just used his cellphone or was about to pull out his cellphone when the crash happened. If true, there would be traffic violations, in addition to the possibility of criminal charges, brought against the driver of the armored truck.

There could also be a civil case made out of this. The armored truck driver is likely bound to some code of conduct by the security company he works for. Distracted driving is unlikely to fall within the guidelines of "proper conduct" under these rules. The family could sue the driver and possibly the security company for this car crash.
