A child may try to take on a parent's role after divorce

Children react to their parents' divorce in different ways, depending on their age, personality and a host of other factors. One issue that experts have noted is that a child may realize that there is a "vacuum" within the traditional family structure now that the parents are not together, and he or she will then attempt to take on that role.

Why would you want to legally separate from your spouse?

Divorce is a permanent solution to a critical problem. If you have an unhappy and unfulfilling marriage, then getting a divorce is the solution to that. However, when you get a divorce, it legally ends the marriage -- and for some couples, that is too quick or too permanent of a move at the moment they decide something needs to be done about their marriage.
