Truck strikes jogger in fatal Glendale pedestrian accident

A pedestrian was killed in a tragic accident recently in Glendale, Arizona. The 43-year-old woman was jogging with her 44-year-old friend when she was struck by a car that was approaching from behind. The woman was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, but the injuries she sustained in the accident were too severe. Her 44-year-old friend was not hurt in the accident and the 42-year-old driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to talk with police.

The police are not sure what caused the accident yet, but there are indications that speed was a factor in the crash. Police are also looking into the possibility that the driver was impaired or distracted in some way, but nothing official about those potential factors has been confirmed.

What seems clear though is that this driver was not operating his vehicle in a safe manner. If speed is a factor, then that would explain why the driver lost control of his vehicle and struck the 43-year-old woman. But even if he didn't lose control of the vehicle, that would mean the driver was not giving pedestrians the proper consideration out on the road -- and regardless of the pedestrians around his vehicle, the driver was still operating his vehicle in an unsafe manner by allegedly speeding.

Pedestrian accidents almost always leave the pedestrian victims in serious pain. Usually they are dealt catastrophic injuries that alter their life forever. They can't do activities they once loved and their normal way of life is forever disrupted. If negligence was involved in their wreck, they could file a personal injury suit against the reckless party or parties involved to earn the compensation they need. Though money doesn't solve much for an injured pedestrian, it can at least give you a sense of justice while also helping you pay for expensive medical bills that you wrongfully incurred.
