Prenups and postnups are helpful tools for couples

If you and your spouse were to get a divorce, how do you think the assets would be divided? How would your home be handled? How would the many different banking, retirement and other financial accounts be dealt with? Who would get what? Would there be alimony involved, and who would pay? What about the zillion other issues that can be involved in any divorce?

Study reveals risks of head injury from falls for children

A new study found that head injuries are the most common form of injuries to younger children. Car accidents and bike accidents featured prominently in the study. Researchers found that fewer than half the children who suffered a head injury in a car accident did not have a seatbelt on. In addition, fewer than 20 percent of children who were injured in a bike accident were wearing a helmet.

Street racing possibly involved in chaotic crash

An astonishing and tragic motor vehicle accident near Phoenix Arizona claimed the lives of two people and left another eight with life-threatening injuries. Three others were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, and the police are investigating the crash to try to figure out how such a complex accident occurred (three vehicles and 15 people were involved in total).

Moving is a tough job.

From 2010 to 2012, fatal bike accidents jump by large margin

In a disconcerting update about the state of U.S. roadways and the safety of them for bicyclists, new data shows that from 2010 to 2012, the number of fatalities relating to bicycle accidents increased dramatically. The 16 percent increase in fatalities (621 in 2010, 722 in 2012) is even more alarming when you consider that fatalities related to other accidents only rose by 1 percent.

Pedestrian killed in Phoenix wreck didn't use crosswalk

A pedestrian was struck and killed in Phoenix recently as she tried to catch a bus on the other side of the street. The 56-year-old woman did not cross in the crosswalk and an oncoming vehicle hit the woman who suffered fatal injuries. The 57-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. It does not appear that the driver will be charged with any crime or offense.
