The tiny details of car accidents go a long way

Imagine that you are driving down the road and you get into a car accident. It's not a major accident though. Nobody is seriously injured -- maybe a bump here or a bruise there. The two vehicles involved are a bit damaged, but with a little work they should be fine. All in all, you made it out with a pretty lucky result.

But when you try to recall the specifics of the crash, you merely think that the incident was just happenstance. It truly was "an accident." We aren't alluding to a concussion or memory loss here. Instead, we are making the point that small details in a crash often go unnoticed by the parties involved. And these small details can go a long way in determining liability in the crash.

For example, did you notice that the other driver failed to use his or her turn blinker before he or she made their move? Were you aware that the other vehicle was travelling at a speed that was too far above or below the posted speed limit? Did you know that the other driver was changing the radio station immediately before he or she collided with your car?

There are many reasons a car accident happens, and many of these reasons are very difficult to notice. Any victim of a car accident may know that these factors exist, but to actually see or acknowledge that they were involved in their accident can be difficult to recognize. Make sure your accident is fully investigated and that you know all the facts before proceeding with any legal recourse.
