Head-on collision may have been due to impairment

| Dec 9, 2015 | Car Accidents

Two vehicles collided head on in a recent accident in Phoenix, Arizona. The result were fatal, unfortunately. One vehicle was described by witnesses as speeding and driving erratically when it suddenly crossed the center line and crashed into another vehicle. The driver of the erratic vehicle was killed in the accident, while the driver of the struck vehicle survived the crash, though she did so while suffering serious injuries. She remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The crash is being investigated, but it appears that speeding and impairment are likely causes of this wreck. Those haven’t been confirmed, but given the statements of witnesses, it appears that the erratic vehicle was being driven by someone who was impaired.

As the police investigate this crash, we can take away a couple of lessons here. The first is that no one should be behind the wheel of a vehicle if they aren’t in the proper state of mind to drive. Alcohol, drugs, or even something as simple as having a cold or illness means that you will not be as able to drive effectively as other people. In fact, you will be more likely to cause a crash. Stay off of the road if you aren’t fit to drive.

At the same time, we aren’t naive. Wrecks like this will keep happening, unfortunately. When they do, the victims of the wreck need legal representation to make sure they are properly advised and to help them with any civil lawsuit that they may be considering.
