Too often, holiday time means DUI time

| Dec 25, 2015 | Car Accidents

It’s the holidays, and everyone is in a festive mood. Families are getting together, long lost friends are seeing each other for the first time in many years, and there’s just an air of happiness all around. However, things aren’t always rosy during the holiday season. With that festive mood comes festive parties, and many people will be consuming alcohol during these parties. It’s just something to be prepared for.

What this means is that a lot of people will also make the unfortunate decision to get behind the wheel of a car after they have consumed alcohol. This can lead to drunk driving accidents and fatal accidents at a time of the year that we are supposed to be happy and thinking about our fellow man.

Unfortunately, there is little to stop this inevitability. Many police stations all across the country will be enacting DUI patrols during this holiday period — and while that may catch many DUI offenders, they can’t catch them all. As a result, drunk driving accidents are going to happen, and the victims of these wrecks will see their lives change dramatically.

If you have been injured as a result of a drunk driving accident, then you need to consider your legal options as soon as possible. Insurance companies will be asking you a lot of questions, and you will have a bunch of questions racing through your mind as well — and during it all, you are trying to recover from the wreck. In such a complicated time, it is imperative that you have a legal representative on your side to provide you with support and guidance.
